Waasland Logistics Park

The Chabert Act which governs the management of the Left Bank area was introduced on 19 June 1978. The Corporation for the port policy and the industrial estate policy for the Left Bank area of the Scheldt (in short, the Corporation) was then established. It has the authority to carry out compulsory acquisitions as part of the development of port and industrial facilities.

The Corporation is also charged with defining the land policy for the port area on the Left Bank, the industrial policy for the industrial zone located within this area, and the subregional policy for the ongoing phased development of the port area on the Left Bank. Developing the Waasland Logistics Park is an important step towards realizing these goals.

The shareholders of the Corporation are the Flemish Region, the Antwerp Port Authority, the “Land van Waas” Intermunicipal Form of Cooperation and the Beveren and Zwijndrecht local city councils.
